El Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 es uno de los motores en la aviación mas populares. Como motor a reacción esta el Pratt & Whitney JT8D (14.000 unidades fabricadas), el motor turbofan el CFM56 (13.000 unidades fabricadas) y el PT6 que es un motor turbohelice con mas de 51.000 unidades fabricadas desde 1960 en distintas versiones y a diversas aeronaves tanto comerciales como militares.
Este cubre rangos de potencia entre 580 y 920caballos de potencia en eje (shp) en las series originales, y hasta 1.940 shp (1.450 kW) en las series de mayor tamaño. Las variantes PT6B y PT6C son motores turboeje para helicópteros.
